The South of Market neighborhood, affectionately referred to as SoMa stretches from Market Street to Townsend Street. SoMa epitomizes true San Francisco living, with countless casual and fine dining options, a plethora of museums, luxury hotels, weekend entertainment and a well-provisioned gourmet grocery store at your doorstep. And with the newly launched Third Street Light Rail Project establishing rail service along the third street corridor, getting around the city, as well as, in and out of the city couldn’t be more convenient.

 

Influenced by the nearby Financial District and the Moscone Convention Center, SoMa has all the amenities for the well-heeled resident. You may also find that the influence of the arts, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Center for the Arts at Yerba Buena Gardens, and several boutique art galleries and independent bookstores provide a bit of a Bohemian undercurrent.

 

South of Market has been under redevelopment for decades. The recent pedestrian promenade, Yerba Buena Lane, connects Market Street to Yerba Buena Gardens providing a gateway to some of the best shopping around. The Metreon complex and Yerba Buena gardens provide residents with non-stop entertainment: from year-round ice skating to bowling to the movies. They’re likely isn’t a more convenient area for pedestrian San Francisco lifestyle.
